TransCore Encompass® 4-S RFID Reader
The TransCore Encompass® 4-S RFID Reader is a fully integrated wireless radio frequency identification (RFID) reader designed for use in parking, security access, fleet, and trucking applications. The Encompass 4-S is a compact version of TransCore’s Encompass 4, for installations that require a smaller profile. The E4-S features an integrated antenna, support for RS232 or RS422 communications, a built in Wiegand translator, and support for half-frame or full-frame configurations. The E4-S is licensed by the Federal Communications Commissions (FCC) to operate in the 902 MHz to 928 MHz radio frequency band. The E4-S reader uses the same interface cable, transformer and mounting bracket as the existing E4 reader. It can be easily installed, tested, and maintained by authorized personnel. The command set is compatible with TransCore’s SmartPass®, Encompass 2, and Encompass 4 readers.
