This Race Timing Antenna Kit comes with everything you need to set up a panel antenna on race day. A tripod, high-gain antenna, cable, and mounting bracket come in this kit helping to simplify your pre-race planning and setup.
This antenna kit is simple to set-up giving race directors a smoother race day experience and make sure nothing is overlooked by giving race directors an entire antenna setup all in one package.
NOTE: RFMax antennas were formerly sold under the brand Laird Technologies. They are the same great antennas - just with a new name.

Reads UHF tags fairly well.
More portable than timing mats.
Bracket is clunky.
Range is short.
Pointed over a 14 foot finish line. Got 80 percent of the runners. Most runners crossed on the far side (away from the antenna).
Thank you for the feedback! We recommend using multiple antennas to create better coverage for your read zone. In smaller races, sometimes 2 antennas will suffice (one on each side); in larger races, you'll likely need at least 4 antennas.
As always, we recommend thorough testing to ensure the antenna placement and angles are ideal to catch as many tag reads (i.e. runners) as possible. We also have a 5-part series on race timing that may help with selecting the right equipment as well as tagging racers to ensure the best read rates possible (https://www.atlasrfidstore.com/rfid-resources/#ebook).
