Impinj R700 RAIN RFID Reader
The Impinj R700 RAIN RFID Reader is built for global enterprise deployments that demand high performance, reliability, and scalability. It delivers industry-leading RFID read performance, enterprise-grade security, and modern developer tools that make it easy to build, deploy, and manage custom IoT applications. Designed with developers in mind, the R700 supports a Linux operating system, REST APIs, and native compatibility with industry-standard data formats and protocols such as MQTT. With up to 10× more processing power for on-reader applications, it enables advanced edge computing use cases. When combined with tags based on Impinj M800 series tag chips and with support for the Impinj Gen2X solutions toolbox, the Impinj R700 series advances RAIN RFID performance at dock doors, conveyors, and store exits where items are moving or densely packed.
Available in two versions to meet your deployment needs:
- R700v1 – the proven, widely deployed original model
- R700v2 – the next-generation model with enhanced processing power and memory

The latest revision, R700v2, includes major internal upgrades to support more demanding enterprise applications. It features a dual-core 1 GHz 64-bit ARM A53 processor, runs a 64-bit Linux 6.6 operating system, and provides an expanded 768 MB Customer Application Partition (CAP), enabling larger, more complex on-reader applications and future-ready performance. R700v2 retains the same industry-leading RFID performance and mechanical design as R700v1, while requiring PoE+ power and R700 firmware version 10.0 or later. R700v2 models are shipping now.
Note: Manufacturing of R700v1 will be discontinued in 2026, with continued firmware updates and support for existing deployments.

Impinj Extended Warranty Plans
Impinj Extended Warranty plans offer continued coverage beyond the standard limited one-year warranty. These warranty plans extends the limited hardware warranty for an additional one (1), two (2), or three (3) years after the expiration of the initial limited hardware warranty. They extend all hardware warranty benefits and include access to major and minor firmware maintenance releases.
NOTE: Impinj Extended Warranties must be purchased at least 90 days prior to the expiration of standard limited one-year warranty. Contact us for details.
