Counting inventory one tag at a time slows your team down and puts accuracy at risk. The TSL 3128 Bluetooth RAIN RFID UHF Reader changes that with an embedded Impinj E510 engine delivering read rates of up to 700 RFID tags per second, so cycle counts that used to take hours wrap up in minutes. Hardware-based de-duplication filters up to 1 million tags before the data ever reaches your host device, keeping your system running smoothly instead of drowning in redundant reads. A single scan can also read multiple areas of a tag, write new data, or lock it entirely, giving your team the flexibility to handle inventory, asset tracking, and mobile POS tasks without switching devices.
The reader's removable Power Handle packs a 25.4Wh Lithium Polymer battery and charges quickly over 30W+ USB-C Power Delivery, while an optional Hot-Swap Accessory lets you change handles without powering down or losing scanned data. Bluetooth connectivity reaches up to 100 meters (328 ft) and pairs with Android, iOS, Linux, Mac, and Windows devices, or the reader can work completely standalone in Batch Mode, storing readings on a Micro SD card for later upload. Built to an IP 54 rating and MIL-STD 810F standards, this handheld RFID reader shrugs off drops, dust, and daily wear across warehouses, retail floors, and manufacturing lines.
Ideally suited for standard use, this reader is recommended for users with lighter scanner needs and no rugged charging demand. The reader connects via a USB-C connector for use with a docking cradle, and works with any USB host offering USB CDC support, including Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android devices. The same USB-C port also handles charging, accepting Power Delivery up to 45W with fixed profiles at 5V/3A, 9V/3A, and 15V/3A, so one cable and power supply can keep the reader running whether it's tethered to a host or charging standalone.
The 3128 communicates using TSL's ASCII 3 parameterised command set, a proven protocol that keeps configuration straightforward and makes the reader compatible with software already built for earlier TSL devices. This backwards-compatible approach means developers and system integrators can add the 3128 to a fleet without extensive re-coding, cutting deployment time and reducing the cost of scaling up RFID operations across a warehouse or retail chain.
3128 Readers with the 2D Imager option can use TSL's patent-pending Command Scan feature to scan special barcodes to configure the reader. Eliminating the need to connect a reader to a PC, Command Scan enables imager equipped readers to change reader settings by scanning a QR code. On TSL's freely accessible website, users can create QR codes designed to execute an Autorun file on the reader. These QR codes can be configured to change the reader behavior on the double-click of the trigger, mute the reader volume, limit the dBm power level of the antenna, reset the reader to the default configuration, and more.
Note: Compatible mobile computer and device mount not included and must be purchased separately. Contact us for details.
