TSL 3166 Bluetooth Rugged UHF RFID Reader

The TSL 3166 Bluetooth Rugged UHF RFID reader provides high performance UHF RFID reading in a tough and rugged form factor. Designed to read and write to EPC Class 1 Gen 2 and EPC Class 1 Gen 2V2 tags, the 3166 reader can be configured with class leading high performance 2D data scanning to bring unparalleled data collection capabilities to any host it is connected to. With existing Bluetooth® wireless technology enabled host devices including Enterprise Handhelds, Consumer Phones, Tablets and PC’s – the 3166 will bring high performance RFID and 2D scanning to all these devices running a wide range of Operating Systems.

The 3166 reader is designed to work with existing apps built with TSL SDKs, but with improved performance. TSL’s latest ASCII protocol provides the developer with a powerful set of commands that carry out multiple actions locally within the reader. This approach enables multiple tag operations to be executed using simple pre-configured commands which speeds up integration of the reader into applications

The 3166 readers features the TSL^® ePop-Loq^® connector system which offers safe device separate when the reader is subject to large impacts and allows data and charge connections to be passed from the reader to an attached device, such as a smartphone or handheld terminal. Using the latest generation of Impinj silicon, this reader offers read rates up to 1200 tags per second. Additionally, multiple tag operations per tag are possible during an inventory scan and on reader de-duplication is provided to prevent overwhelming the connected host with information.

Command Scan is a new, patent-pending feature, exclusive to TSL 31xx readers. Eliminating the need to connect a reader to a PC, Command Scan enables imager equipped readers to change reader settings by scanning a QR code. On TSL's freely accessible website, users can create QR codes designed to execute an Autorun file on the reader. These QR codes can be configured to change the reader behavior on the double-click of the trigger, mute the reader volume, limit the dBm power level of the antenna, reset the reader to the default configuration, and more.
