RFID Race Chip Timing Systems
Race timing systems are crucial to handling every kind of race, from professional to amateur, for which time must be kept. From high school athletics to charity marathons and triathlons, you need a system that’s going to keep accurate time for every single entrant in the race. You need to be confident that nothing will slip through the cracks and that all times will be recorded. RFID race timing systems are an exciting and precise way to keep track of each person's time and fairly evaluate each individual competitor.
Precise timing is what constitutes the difference between first and second place and creates a successful and non-controversial event. Timing systems for racing are what ensure the accuracy you require, which is why it’s so important to have the best timing equipment possible. RFID in race timing, or race chip timing, is becoming increasingly prevalent, offering solutions for running, cycling, triathlons and many other types of racing. It is generally considered to be the most accurate and reliable timing system for racing available and works in much the same way as standard RFID systems. Racers, runners, and cyclists have an RFID chip attached to them in some fashion and that chip is captured as it passes by a read zone at the beginning and end of the race (as well as various checkpoints in between). The reader captures and identifies each unique chip and then sends that information to a database, keeping a complete and accurate record of each racer's time.
Our RFID timing equipment products are useful for a variety of applications, including encoding and verifying RFID tags prior to an event as well as reading racers’ RFID tags or running chips during the event. We can supply you with all the necessary hardware you need—running chips (or tags), RFID readers, antennas, cables, and more. Take a look at how our RFID timing equipment can ensure you stay ahead of the race.
Like all of our products, we are continually updating and adding race chip timing products to our website. If there is a particular item you are searching for but cannot find, please contact us as we will ensure that you'll find a product that suits your needs.
What are RFID Race Timing Systems?
RFID race timing systems are a combination of RFID readers and tags, or chips, that work together to keep a completely accurate and updated record of a race. Not only will the RFID timing system be able to sort and identify every unique chip (i.e. every unique racer), it will be able to keep an extremely precise record of time that is measured at every place a reader is installed, such as the start line, finish line, and important checkpoints in between. At the beginning of a race, each participant is given a tag or chip that is attached to his or her shoe, bib, or band, and then runs through an RFID checkpoint, which activates and reads the chip. RFID race timing systems are becoming more and more prevalent because of their high level of accuracy and ease of use. They are now generally considered the best race timing systems on the market.
